Journall ("Journall," "we," or "us") respects your privacy. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users and we want to provide a safe and secure user experience. We will use our best efforts to ensure that the information you submit to us remains private and is used only for the purposes set forth herein. Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information. This policy details how data about you is collected, used, and shared when you access the website historychip.com (our "Website") and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This privacy policy applies to all information we collect from current and former Journall users and visitors, including information collected through this Website and in email and other electronic messages between you and this Website. This privacy policy does not apply to information collected by us offline or through any other means. When you are no longer a registered user, we continue to manage your information as described in this policy.

 

2. Children Under the Age of 16

Our Website is not intended for children under 16 years of age. No one under age 16 may provide any personal information to or on the Website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are under 16, do not provide any information on this Website or register on the Website. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Journall collects information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer, household, or device ("personal information"). Journall collects data to operate effectively and provide better quality experiences. If you do not agree to our collection of the information, you may be limited or restricted in the services available to you through the Website. Where applicable, we indicate whether and why you must provide us with your personal information, as well as the consequences of failing to do so.

In particular, our Website has collected the following categories of personal information (as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) from its consumers, within the last twelve (12) months:

In order to share stories, post comments, and use any interactive features of the Website, you will be required to register an account. During account creation, we ask you for a username, birth month, birth year and your email address (or your parent or guardian's email address if you are under 16 years old). We request that you select a username that does not disclose your real name or other information that could identify you. Other users can see your username, but not your age, gender, or email address

 

3.2 User Stories and Submissions

We collect any information you provide to us when you submit a story, write comments, or post on our forums (if available).

In addition, the Website also automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, browser type, and Journall Cookie (defined below) information.

 

4. How Journall Uses Personal Information

Journall uses personal information it collects to:

  • Register you with the Website;
  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Website;
  • Personalize the content we provide you;
  • Provide customer service;
  • Help protect the safety of our users, which includes blocking suspected spammers, investigating and addressing abuse, and enforcing the Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy

  • When you submit a post or comment or other User Submissions through the Website, visitors to and users of the Website will be able to see the content of your posts and comments, the username associated with your posts or comments, and the date and time you originally submitted the post or comment. Journall has no control over how others will use the information you share through posts or other submissions.
  • When you send messages to other users, the recipients of those messages will be able to see the content of your message, your username, and the date and time the message was sent. Please use caution when sharing information about yourself to other users and third parties. Journall has no control over how others will use the information you share with them through messages.
  • When other users view your profile, they may be able to see information about your activities on the Website, such as your username, prior posts and comments, etc.

Journall will not share, sell, or give away any of our users' personal information to third parties, unless one of the following circumstances applies:

  • We may share information with vendors, consultants, and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work for us. These companies may have access to your personal information as necessary to perform their functions, and they are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality of any personal information in which they come in contact as part of their services to Journall.
